About the game
Fjord Village
Fjord Village is a slow, cozy puzzle for the end of a long day. Tile by tile you grow forests, fields, fjords and red-roofed villages along a quiet Nordic coast, while day turns to night and summer gives way to autumn and winter snow. Every tile edge that matches its neighbour gives points, perfect fits win you extra tiles, and little flag quests ask you to grow a forest or close a fjord. Travel through eight regions in Journey and earn up to three stars in each, chase a high score in Classic, try the same tiles as everyone else in the Daily Map, or just build and relax in Zen.
How to play
- Tap a glowing spot next to your village to try your tile there.
- Turn the tile with the round arrow, by tapping it, right-click or Q and E.
- Tap the tile again or press the check to place it.
- Every matching edge gives 10 points. Rivers, fjords and roads must connect.
- Reach the region goal to earn stars, up to three per region.
Tips
- Match all edges with three or more neighbours for a perfect placement and a bonus tile. A full ring of six gives two.
- Finish flag quests to win more tiles and points.
- Place special tiles like the Windmill or Harbor next to big areas for a bigger bonus.
- Undo works once per tile, so feel free to try things.
- Drag to pan, pinch or scroll to zoom.
- Your village level, stars and scores are saved in your browser.
Good to know
Regions, modes and special tiles
Journey takes you through eight regions, from Sunny Meadow and Little Fjord to Troll Mountains, Winter Village and the Aurora Isles. Each region has its own goal, like completing quests, growing a big forest or connecting two villages by road.
- Journey: eight little regions with goals and stars.
- Classic: build until your tile stack runs out and chase a high score.
- Daily Map: the same tiles for everyone today, one seed and one best score.
- Zen: endless tiles and no score, just build and relax.
As your village level grows you unlock special tiles such as stave churches, troll bridges, lakeside saunas, lighthouses and fishing cabins. In Settings you can turn day and night, weather and nature sounds on or off.
